Trade Dialogue and Summit 2018 (TDAS ' 18)

CPEC - BRI PROJECT

The BRI plan aims to build out the overland and maritime infrastructure needed to create a broad web of new trade connections from the Eastern hemisphere to the West. It will do so by developing six broad economic corridors. Four are predominantly land routes connecting China to Europe through Central Asia.

For example, a New Eurasian Land Bridge economic corridor is intended to be a major logistics passageway between China and Europe with transcontinental rail connections, including that China-to-London freight train that ended its journey in Barking. The two remaining corridors are maritime routes, establishing land–sea connectivity across Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Africa.

Celebrating 70 years of Pakistan Egypt Diplomatic Relations, CPEC BRI Cairo Dialogue & Trade Summit: Building Partnership for Trade Transformation under BRI is a unique informal platform for dialogue and cooperation between various countries in Asia, Central Asia Middle East and Africa on the  emerging challenges and  opportunities in fast-changing global economic and political transformation, such as connectivity, trade, investment, possibilities of joint ventures, but also the broad security challenges such as counter-terrorism, hybrid security threats, maritime security, migration and cybersecurity.

OUR APPROACH

The Forum will promote and support an open and unbiased exchange of ideas, demonstrating a continued commitment to a constructive dialogue with the international community, regional partners, with the aim to enhance economic cooperation, business activity and enhanced regional connectivity.

EVENT FRAMEWORK

The rapid developing trends of globalization, including increased trade relations between countries and regions, have essentially reconfigured the defense and industrial sector with international collaborative linkages edging out erstwhile stand-alone national industries towards joint ventures and increased prospects in trade and investments.

 

The CPEC-BRI dialogue and trade summit’s main purpose is to provide a platform to foster political policy, economic dialogue and exchange of ideas along with providing business opportunities to enhance and strengthen economic cooperation and tackle global challenges together and develop new opportunities.

 

The event aims at creating awareness of the potential for mutual cooperation and facilitating partnership between the Pakistani and Egyptian entities, stakeholders, business and policy leaders for economic progress, investment and increased cooperation between the BRI-CPEC partner states.

The multi-tier representation of policy, security, expert, industry, academic and media interface will be divided between the plenary sessions and sideline conferences, seminars, business moots and keynote addresses for the conference. Key slots will be determined through mutual consultation with sectoral leaders and the organizers.

 

The event will consist of government, industry, business, policy leaders along with corporations and other relevant stakeholders from the defense, business cooperation and members of the business community leading the way in small and medium enterprises along with academic and policy experts for each relevant session in the summit.

THE OUTCOME

Multiple platforms will be created to enhance cooperation and build upon the workspace. Policy advocacy networks, ingress creation of the Cairo CPEC Dialogue: A Platform for CPEC connectivity.

 

This can be created depending upon the organization goals and force goals of the strategic communications and the end goal of economic development and progress for Pakistan and Egypt in particular and other countries under the BRI-CPEC development.

 

This will pave the way for joint collaboration and increased support for the ongoing work in Pakistan, Egypt and other regionally relevant geographical, economic areas. This will also lead to increase transparency with regards to the regulations, procedures, government policy space and actual business cooperation potential and development.
